Artist Statement
This is a
painting of a young Asian lady posing next to the goal post nets in a soccer
field. The lady is wearing a white hoodie and giving a surprised smile.
This painting depicts how the Covid 19 pandemic has taken many people by
surprised and ‘trapped us in the net’. For the young adults, their study / graduation
/ marriage / career plans were rescheduled or changed, with some giving up on their hopes
and dreams. The bright and sparkling eyes of this lady serves as a reminder to
us that we should not give up hope.
