Artist Statement:
This painting depicts a man wearing a blue padded winter jacket hugging his pet dog. It is done in memory of how millions of people spent their winter and Christmas in year 2020 in a state of lockdown due to the Covid 19 pandemic. The dog looked towards the left, as if it is looking back at how this pandemic had started and wondering how long the lockdown is going to last. On the other hand, the dog’s owner (unshaven) looked towards the right, giving the dog a smile, as if consoling it that the lockdown will be over soon and they can resume normal life eventually.
