Artist Statement:

There has been reports that there is a global interest in pet adoption in the early phase (Apr – May 2020) of the Covid 19 pandemic. As vaccination is being rolled out and people return to work, there are reports of overcrowding animal shelters and possible abandonment of these newly adopted pets. This portrait painting depicts a woman hugging her pet dog. It is the artist’s hope that people think twice before adopting dogs or any animals.
